Mummy's Favourite Shoes

Check out Amy with legendary filmmaker John Hough at the recent Hello Digital Festival where her film, Mummy’s Favourite Shoes, was showcased before the 1930s 'Bride of Frankenstein'.

Amy has engaged in various C Media projects over the last three years including Filmmaking Partners where we supported her produce her own short film “Mummy’s Favourite Shoes”.

Amy talks about her exciting experience at the Hello Digital Festival:
“The day was a real learning experience for me. There were only ten films being showcased and so not many people attended. This really worked to my advantage as I got half an hour, one on one tutorial with John Hough, and he gave me loads of advice for making horror films and films in general! So I really got a lot out of the day.

He said that Mummy's Shoes was one of his favourites of the day as it was the only horror film that didn’t focus on aggression and violence to create the horror, and was much more subtle and thought out! He said that the concept, the imagery and the abstract contrast between the sets was "genius!" So as you can imagine I was over the moon!! It was amazing to have such a positive response from someone as successful as John Hough!!

They’ve asked me to take part in a feature comedy horror film that the Killriculum is making soon, that John Hough is directing! So I’ll keep in touch and let you know how that goes :-D"

Dreams 2012

We are about to embark on a wave of intensive production with young people across Yorkshire through the delivery of Dreams 2012, which will explore young people’s aspirations and dreams across a broad spectrum of culture and sport. In association with Leeds Bridge we aim to engage young people in the production of over 100 short films that will capture interesting stories of ambition, passion and motivation in line with the approaching Olympics in 2012. In the new year we will be launching a fully featured interactive networking site which will act as a hub to the project and feature regular updates of films and images as produced by young people throughout Yorkshire. Black Glitter

Completion of Black Glitter - a large image rich book overflowing with children's images, drawings and comments as a reflection of the creative journey experienced by Guard House Primary School and its extended community over the last four years.
The Guard House Live Project was devised to develop positive approaches to a creative curriculum, working with teachers to develop creative approaches to engaging and exciting pupils from difficult to reach communities with a view to raising aspiration and attainment through creative practice. The school also produced a sort film which was screened at the Showcomotion Festival in July 08 along with postcards, badges, drawings and much, much more...
